I have so many questions. What do I do?

Visit the store at 1078 East Montague Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29405. We are OPEN FOR WALK-IN SHOPPING on Saturdays between 11:00am - 5:00pm.

We're open by appointment on weekdays (Mon-Fri). We spend most days in the store and live only a few blocks away. So, there is rarely an inconvenient time to meet to discuss your mattress purchase. We're closed on Sundays. Call or text 843-303-2478 to set up an appointment, or email info@thecharlestonmattress.com.

How do I place a mattress order?

You can call 843-303-2478 and place an order, purchase online from this website, or visit our store in North Charleston, SC in the Park Circle Neighborhood Restaurant District and try the mattresses before you buy. We're next to Azul Mexicano and across from EVO Pizzeria.

How long does it take to get our mattress?

We build your order when you purchase it. It typically takes 3 to 4 business days for us to build a standard size king, queen, full or twin mattress and deliver. Special orders and custom sizes can take up to 6 weeks.

Do you offer delivery? Or do we need to pick-up?

Yes, we offer free local delivery in Charleston, Berkeley and Dorchester Counties (SC). Set-up of the new mattress/set and haul away of your old items are also free with no hidden fees. We are a ZERO LANDFILL company and use BedShred.com service when carefully disposing of your old mattress. The delivery is handled by our own in-house team to ensure a comfortable experience.

We allow items to be picked up from the store. We will assist with getting the items to your vehicle. But, for liability purposes, we cannot assist in securing items to your vehicle or provide ropes or straps. There are no discounts for picking-up items. It is better for everyone if you let pros handle the delivery and set up.

Where do you source your materials from?

Our coils originate from Leggett & Platt (St. Louis, MO), a company known for incorporating 95% recycled steel into their mattress coil manufacturing process. They utilize nearly a million tons of recycled scrap steel each year in the production of Leggett & Platt products.

Renew ™ is crafted using Carpenter Company's (Richmond, VA) Natural Foam Technology ™, ensuring the consistent and high-quality standards that Charleston Mattress customers have come to anticipate. This bio-based approach allows customers to reduce their environmental impact and decrease our nation's reliance on foreign oil.

Future Foam (Bluffs, IA) has introduced the HARVEST ® line of foam products, which utilize a combination of natural oil (such as Soy) polyol and traditional polyols. This initiative benefits farmers seeking new markets for their crops.

All materials used in our products carry the CertiPUR-US ® certification, which mandates low emissions for indoor air quality and prohibits the use of ozone-depleting substances, formaldehyde, PBDEs, restricted phthalates, lead, mercury, and other concerning materials.

The quilted cover is manufactured by Culp (High Point, NC), a company with a four-decade history of innovation and excellence in providing a wide range of mattress and upholstery fabrics worldwide. These covers meet the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® standards for safety and quality.

Does my mattress come with a warranty?

We have a 10-year non-prorated warranty on all models except the Ansonborough model, which has a 5-year non-prorated warranty.

Our warranty still means something. Because we do business with our friends, family, and neighbors, we're held to a higher standard; but we don't mind. There's no fine print in our one-page legible warranty.

Today's consumers require mattresses that are comfortable to sleep on with less movement and less bounce. This means all manufacturers have to build mattresses with high coil counts and many more layers of luxury foam, latex, cooling gel, and other fiber comfort layers that are designed to contour to all body types. This can lead to minor body impressions depending on the environment and sleep habits of the consumer. Body impressions that are 1.5 inches or more are unlikely in Charleston Mattresses, but indicate a defect in manufacturing. We will repair or replace a mattress at no cost that has a body impression 1.5 inches deep or deeper within the first 10 years.

We are the only mattress store in South Carolina that breaks down the old mattresses we haul away through our BedShred.com initiative. Since 2015, over 125,000 mattresses have been processed at the facility in Pamplico, SC. So, we know our competition inside and out; every brand name, every manufacturer, and every online mattress. In 100+ years, our confidence has never been higher that we are offering the best product at affordable prices for everyone. We know that our mattresses will hold up better than the competition.
